In a rural municipality of 11 villages in North Macedonia, Antigona becomes the first and only female bus driver. After her father’s early retirement, she takes over his role, driving along winding roads between remote communities. She connects these villages to the outside world, defying gender norms.
Ibër Deari is a film director from North Macedonia known for his socially engaged, visually grounded storytelling that often explores life in rural and underrepresented communities. He has directed both short and feature-length films, focusing on identity, silence, and resistance through daily life.
