The Divided City of Mitrovica

Synopsis

Mitrovica is a city in Kosovo ethnically divided between Albanians and Serbs. The landscape of the place frozen by conflict narrates two poems about the dying mothers. Two people seem to be lost in ruins and the cherry trees blossom.

Directors' Biography

Marko Grba Singh (b. 1988, Belgrade) is a PhD candidate in Film Directing at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts. His films have screened at Visions du Réel, FIDMarseille, and Cannes ACID. He is the Artistic Director of BELDOCS since 2018. His debut feature Rampart premiered at Locarno in 2021.
