Synopsis

Cape Verde, both the literal and metaphorical epicenter of a world in crisis, is where powerful hurricanes are born. On these dry, wind-blown islands, filmmakers capture the will to live through humans and animals alike. Driven by the Coriolis Effect and worsened by global warming, storms grow ever more devastating.

Directors' Biography

Corinne van Egeraat and Petr Lom are a filmmaking duo creating human rights documentaries for 15+ years. Lately, they explore nature’s rights, rethinking our bond with nature. The Coriolis Effect follows their Crystal Film Award-winning film on NZ’s Whanganui River, the first with legal personhood.
