One night, Želimir Žilnik takes in ten homeless men from the streets of Novi Sad, filming their stay at his home and his attempts to find them help. Met with apathy from institutions and citizens alike, the film critiques false humanism, social demagogy, and the filmmaker’s own privileged position.
Želimir Žilnik (b. 1942, Novi Sad) is a prolific Serbian filmmaker with over 50 films shown at major festivals like Berlin, Toronto, and Rotterdam. Known for his socially engaged cinema, he has faced censorship for critiquing authority, while highlighting the lives of ordinary people.
